A SERIES of ‘Boardroom Briefings’ held across the months January and February this year for Media Council of PNG Media Members is the start of closer and more frequent interaction between the MCPNG Executive and Media Members.

Led by MCPNG President Neville Choi and the Board Executives, the briefings covered Council updates and important industry events planned for the year.

The ‘Boardroom Briefings’ are a new addition to the Council’s Events Calendar, which will be open to any organisation to request at a modest facilitation fee. Briefing Facilitators are the MCPNG Executive Board Members, and MCPNG Management Council Representatives comprising editors and news managers from mainstream member newsrooms.

MCPNG President Neville Choi says the Boardroom Briefings are an opportunity for any organisation to learn about the workings of the PNG Media Sector, and how to engage more effectively with journalists, editors, and media personnel.

“We have a lot of plans to roll out this year, and the Boardroom Briefings for our Media Members was an opportunity to outline all our plans and to give the opportunity to our industry personnel to ask questions and learn more about the MCPNG and its work.

“We are also undergoing an accreditation drive to have all our Media Member news personnel accredited to the MCPNG. This accreditation drive will ensure recognised MCPNG members are able to access accredited access only areas like the National Parliament and Court Precincts.”
