First PNG National Press Club set for March 26th

THE Media Council of Papua New Guinea’s first PNG National Press Club is set for Wednesday March 26th and will feature as its first speaker for the year, Campaign Manager for ACT NOW PNG, Eddie Tanago.

Mr. Tanago will be speaking on Strategic Litigation Against Public Participation or SLAPPs, a legal recourse used to stifle public commentary and hinder the work of journalists and civil society.

The first PNG NPC event for the year will be a simulcast broadcast by production partner National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) on their television, radio and online platforms.

The March 26th will also have as special guests, media leaders from Tonga who will be in the country from the 25th to the 29th on a media fact-finding mission.
