Council to roll out Media Accreditation exercise

ANYONE actively practicing in the business of collecting, packaging and presenting news and information for public consumption on a regular basis will need to become a member of the Media Council of Papua New Guinea (MCPNG) and be accredited.

As part of its renewal work, the Council has initiated an accreditation exercise to capture all practicing journalists and media workers in the country.

Briefings held with each MCPNG Media Member newsroom in February prepared media workers for the accreditation roll out.

MCPNG President Neville Choi says all media members will be given first access to getting their staff accredited. Any media operator who is not a Media Member of MCPNG will need to apply for accreditation, and to receive the endorsement of the full MCPNG Management Council which meets every month.
